The Tapojärvi Innovation Challenge 2025 has drawn strong international attention, with 37 applications submitted from over 35 countries. The figure marks a clear increase from 2023, when 29 entries were received from 22 universities.
Launched by Tapojärvi, the challenge aims to uncover innovative ways to utilise industrial side streams and promote sustainable industrial practices.
A total of 110 participants registered, with the highest numbers from Turkey, Germany, and Finland.

Evaluation and Final Ahead
EIT Raw Materials will shortlist 15–20 top proposals, after which Tapojärvi’s Sales and Development Team will select the finalists for an online pitching session.
The competition will culminate on 27 October 2025, during Tapojärvi’s 70th anniversary celebrations at the Kemi SnowCastle.
