Tapojärvi is organising the international Innovation Challenge competition for students for the third time. The competition aims to increase students’ understanding of the challenges of an industrial circular economy and help them develop sustainable solutions for industrial side streams through new product and service innovations.

“With this competition, we want to challenge future experts to consider the possibilities of sustainable industrial activity. Large industrial plants and mines impact the environment in a variety of ways – the key question is how we manage these impacts,” explains Mari Pilventö, Tapojärvi’s acting CEO.

By leading by example, Tapojärvi shows that the use of natural resources can be influenced in many ways.

“By creating new technological solutions for industrial activity, we promote the shift to a low-carbon society. Innovations that utilise industrial side streams are an example of an industrial-scale environmental accomplishment.”

The final will be held in Toranda in Tornio, on Tapojärvi Oy’s 67th anniversary on October 27th, 2023 at 2.00 pm.

Livestream of the event will be shown on this page. Follow the news.
