Tapojärvi has entered into a long-term contract with the Swedish company LKAB. Tapojärvi carries out excavation for LKAB in Gällivare at the Malmberget mine for three years. In addition to the three years of operation, the agreement includes the option for two years of extension. The project including option years, worth a total of EUR 38 million, is a significant milestone in Tapojärvi’s strategy.

CEO Mari Pilventö is delighted:

– We have worked with LKAB before. With this agreement, we achieved our long-term goal of reaching a multi-year agreement for Tapojärvi Sverige.

LKAB is an international mining company whose main business is iron ore mining in Kiruna and Malmberget iron deposits. LKAB’s turnover in 2018 was more than SEK 25 billion. The company employs over 4,100 people.

Tapojärvi is a Finnish specialist in mining and factory services, a pioneer in circular economy. Tapojärvi operates in three countries. The company employs over 500 people.
