The new board members assumed their roles at the beginning of January, and the first board meeting with the new composition has now been held. According to the new members, Tapojärvi’s development is characterized by a clear and consistent approach that extends from strategic decision-making to day-to-day operations.
Continuing on Tapojärvi’s Board of Directors are Pertti Tapojärvi, Markku Tapojärvi, Tuomo Tuohino, and Mauri Kauppi. The board members also hold responsibilities in other Tapojärvi Group companies, supporting strong owner governance and consistent decision-making across the Group.
Juha Marttila
Juha Marttila (MSc in Agriculture and Forestry, Agronomist) served as Chairman of MTK (the Central Union of Agricultural Producers and Forest Owners) from 2009 to 2025 and is one of Finland’s most influential figures in agricultural and forest policy. He has extensive experience in EU-level advocacy and deep expertise in climate and environmental policy, the circular economy, and security of supply.
As a farm owner, Marttila has first-hand understanding of the realities of natural resource-based industries and entrepreneurship. He brings to Tapojärvi’s Board valuable insight into sustainable development, governance of natural resource use, circular economy solutions, and societal engagement.
Juha Ylimaunu
Juha Ylimaunu (PhD) is one of Finland’s most experienced experts in environmental responsibility, circular economy, and industrial safety within the metals industry. He has over 35 years of experience in industrial operations, environmental management, and international roles, including serving as CEO of Outokumpu Mining Oy and as Chief Sustainability Officer of the Outokumpu Group.
Ylimaunu’s expertise strengthens Tapojärvi’s Board in particular in the areas of low-carbon solutions, metals circular economy, environmental risk management, and the development of sustainable industrial processes.
